Order the Moroccan Tea and Pastilla at Andalusia

aerial shot of all the food ordered

For traditional Moroccan food, a visit to Andalusia in east Memphis is a must.

We recently popped by Andalusia Restaurant, located in Sanderlin Centre, and we had the most joyful time and experience. There's a reason this spot has almost a perfect five star rating out of 200+ reviews.

Andalusia is a historic region in Spain that was once ruled by Moroccans. It was a melting pot of culture and people. After the Spanish inquisition, many people of Andalusia found refuge in Morocco.

Finally Trying the Birria Pizza from Taco Cat

When people started posting about this food truck meal I knew I had to give it a try. Not only was it something I've never heard of before but it looked *fire emojis*.

It was my mission a few weeks ago to visit Taco Cat food truck determined to try the Birria Pizza I had seen so many posting about.

Taco Cat, a Mexican food truck as cute as its name, can be found in the parking lot of the Exxon gas station in Cordova (610 N Germantown Pkwy). They have a good little set up with a large shaded canopy and bright colored picnic tables to eat at or take it home to enjoy.

Momma’s is Back Open for Business

Call your mommas because the last and first bar in Memphis is back open.

It has been two long years since Momma’s opened their doors to customers but I found from my visit, just days after reopening, that it was like no time had passed at all.

Long-time regulars of Momma’s and The Dirty Crow Inn, the beloved spot that predated Momma’s, settled right back into their bar seats like they never left.

Arnold’s Smokehouse Serves Up Meat And Vegan Menus

A new Castalia Heights restaurant has two menus with two kitchens to serve up a fusion of vegan and meat dishes.

A House Divided: Plants vs. Meats

Arnold’s Smokehouse is the creation of a brother-sister duo: Shanon and Ivy Arnold. Shanon is the head chef with a deep culinary background. He’s not a vegan. However, his sister Ivy is a longtime vegan who helped inspire the restaurant as equally vegan as it is a smokehouse.

Shop Local: Feast & Graze Charcuterie Shop and Cafe

One of Memphis' best charcuterie, cheese, and vegan snack board shop and cafe.

I’ve said many times before that I could survive solely on a charcuterie board, and especially if it’s a specialty board from Feast & Graze

Editor's Note (2/12/24): Feast & Graze can now be found at the Brooks Museum with a Poplar Plaza store coming soon. Photos and some information in this blog may reflect the first location. Be sure to visit their new spot!

The First Caption By Hyatt In The World Is In Downtown Memphis

Why the city’s newest Beale Street hotel is already a hub for Memphians working remotely.

Ed. Note: Check out the first of a new series from contributor Joe Sills featuring hidden gems and Memphis favorites. Joes's Gems, if you will. We'll kick off the series with some bragging rights: when Hyatt decided to create a new brand of hotel, the "Caption", they chose Memphis as the very first location. Nice!
