15 of the Best Places to Eat Brunch in Memphis

We can’t get enough of brunch in Memphis – and the possibilities are endless! We could list close to 100 restaurants, but we’ve rounded up 15 of the best places to get your brunch on in the 901.

If no hours are listed, you can assume brunch is served at the usual time, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.-ish, but definitely CALL AHEAD to confirm! A few of the spots serve a late or early brunch so we listed those hours to give you an idea.

15 of the Best Places to Eat Brunch in Memphis

Alcenia’s: if you are in the mood for comfort food, you can’t go wrong at Alcenia’s. The popular downtown soul food eatery opens at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and fills up fast, so plan accordingly! No reservations. 
 


Bao Toan: modern, authentic Vietnamese menu, including Bahn Mi, traditional rice dishes, and signature brunch dishes – plus creative cocktails and Viet-style coffee drinks. Located in the Crosstown Concourse. Reservations recommended (go to their website).

The Beauty Shop: Cooper-Young brunch hotspot with a fun twist – think challah French toast, Thai-style breakfast bowls, and avocado Za’atar toast, alongside more traditional favorites. Book ahead here.

Brother Juniper’s: East Memphis mainstay with everything you want in a brunch: omelettes, pancakes, benedicts, burritos, espresso drinks, and much more. Brother Juniper’s has been around since the 90s and is still drawing crowds. No reservations; arrive early on the weekend!


Eggxactly: newcomer to the scene located in the Whitehaven community. Cozy and family-friendly, with classic dishes done right – chicken and waffles, catfish and gouda grits, French toast, omelettes, and more. No reservations.

Hog & Hominy: a favorite for brunch for many reasons. Hog & Hominy is group friendly with with brunch running on weekends from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The brunch menu has an array of snacks like banana bread brulee, apple fritters and sausage balls (all gf!) to brunch sandwiches like a morta della sammy, avocado smash and chicken biscuits. Reservations encouraged.


Kitchen Laurel: cozy Midtown brunch spot with a fun twist on the classics. The menu has a yummy-looking “off the beaten path” section with Asian-inspired options. No reservations.

The Liquor Store: serving up good vibes and good breakfast/brunch food from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day. Try one of their famous biscuit options, with gravy, with or without a protein, or as a sandwich. No reservations, and the tables fill up fast, so plan to go early.
 

Magnolia & May: a great East Memphis place for a weekday brunch and Sunday evenings! The menu changes several times a week so definitely check ahead to see what’s cooking. Book your table here.

Mahogany River Terrace: Southern cuisine with Creole flair! Enjoy a view of the Mighty Mississippi from the patio with your omelette, brioche, or Cajun fried chicken. Reservations highly recommended.

Majestic Grille: downtown mainstay serving up upscale food in elegant yet comfortable surroundings. Classics are served with a twist – Crab Benedict, Harissa Chicken Hash, and Brioche French Toast – along with yummy cocktails, flatbreads, and sandwiches. Reservations recommended.

Memphis Toast: family-owned brunch eatery in Midtown, featuring themed rooms that celebrate iconic Memphis people and places. Brunch is filled with soulful, Southern options like the Little Lucille breakfast burrito, Cajun Shrimp & Grits, and the Sticky Waffle Sammich. Make reservations here.


Owen Brennan’s: authentic taste of New Orleans in East Memphis. The Bloody Marys are a Memphis favorite, as is the patio. Jazz brunch is served on Sundays – reservations are a must.

Sage: urban, chic, and sophisticated downtown eatery. Plenty of delicious options, from the lighter fruit and cheese platter to the heartier Steak & Eggs or Lamb & Grits, and everything in between. First come, first serve, so arrive early.

Sunrise Memphis: breakfast is served all day at two locations – downtown and East Memphis. Sammies, pancakes, omelets, bowls, and more. No reservations; show up, get in line, and order at the counter.

Cafe Piazza in Collierville, just off the Square. They haven't updated their website with the brunch menu yet, but it's popular. Went last weekend. I have pictures of the menu.

Silky’s has an excellent brunch with their own take on Benedict.  Brisket, corned beef , pulled pork, and their oysters give them a menu like no other place

Tony’s Trophy Room in Collierville. Brunch is Saturday and Sunday 11-2. 2 for 1 mimosas, bloody Mary’s and screwdrivers. There is also a $20 mimosa tower.
