A nightlife staple since 2015, In Love (also just called “LOVE”) Memphis celebrated their re-opening on June 11th after closing at the top of the year to undergo major renovations throughout the building.

What is there to do after music fest in Memphis? More music! 

If you’re not going to Beale Street Music Fest, but still want some live music in Memphis this weekend—or you’re looking for some after party action—here are some ideas.

Here are a few fun neighborhoods for nightlife in Memphis. There are some bar recommendations too—sticking with places that generally don’t require reservations or are good for meeting up for drinks. 

There are great bars in the suburbs, too, but for this quick guide I'm focusing on mostly walkable or dense areas. 

Meet The Hollywood Hustler and The Disco Dynamite

Paula & Raiford’s Disco will release two new canned beverages for club guests—the Hollywood Hustler Pilsner and the Disco Dynamite Seltzer. They’ll be exclusively available at Raiford’s, which is open Fridays and Saturdays 10 p.m. until 3 a.m.

The popular cocktail delivery service now has a quirky home in Cooper-Young

Shrouded in the purple glow of bungalow bar lights on Young Avenue, mixologist Jef Hicks is hard at work. Behind warm eyes and a wide smile, the soft-spoken Hicks is welcoming his first customer of the night, a neighborhood local eager for a taste of Cooper-Young’s newest nightlife, Memphis Whistle.

Overton Square’s new hotel, The Memphian, has been teasing their shiny new Memphis rooftop bar and lounge to the Instagram faithful for a while now—but they’re officially open to the general public. 

The weekend of June 5th will be a big one downtown—Saturday is the kickoff concert with PJ Morton for Get Loud, this summer’s totally free live music series in Handy Park.
