Ultimate Memphis Food Mashup: Chinese Sub Shop + Pho Binh

The other day, I was tapping through my Instagram Stories when I saw something very curious and very wonderful: a Memphis food mashup I'd never even thought about, much less heard about before. A little background. This blog has covered - in detail - our collective civic love for two beloved Memphis restaurants: Chinese Sub Shop and Pho Binh.

The Chubby Vegetarian's 5 Memphis Dishes You Should Try

Vegetarian BBQ sandwich
Ed. Note: Who says you can't eat vegetarian in Memphis? Contributor Stacey went on a Chubby-Vegetarian-approved food tour recently to check out the duo's collaborations with local restaurants. I hear they have a great veggie burger at new downtown steakhouse 117 Prime, too. The Chubby Vegetarian is husband-and-wife-team Justin Fox Burks and Amy Lawrence. The two will be at St. George's Antiques Arcade this Sat. April 28 from 11 a.m. 1 p.m.

Memphis Barbecue at Arnold's BBQ & Grill Downtown

Ed. Note: Arnold's BBQ & Grill has had a location at 6721 Shelby Drive for some time now, and in Whitehaven before that. Now, they have a snazzy new spot in downtown Memphis. Contributor Stacey went to check it out.
When I first heard that a barbeque restaurant was opening in the Monroe Alley between Danny Thomas and Fourth, I thought that might be a little bit too off of the beaten path.

Pop In To Downtown's Irish Pub, The Brass Door

Ed. Note. Downtown's Irish bar/soccer HQ has reopened under new management with a refreshed menu, new hours, but the same cozy pub atmosphere and crave-worthy goat cheese balls and fries. Contributor Stacey went to check it out and has reported back. All photos are courtesy of the Brass Door unless otherwise noted.
The Brass Door has always been a favorite watering hole, and I’m not even a Guinness girl.
