Ride Your Bike (or Drive Your Dang Car) to CJ’s Blues Club in West Memphis

Ed. Note: Contributor Stacey has another gem for us in West Memphis, aka another reason to ride your bike/walk across the Big River Crossing. Or, as she says, you can just drive your dang car over to CJs to check out this new Mid-South patio.
You’ve ridden to Pancho’s, now it’s time to go a couple more blocks to CJ’s Blues and Sports Bar in West Memphis!

Eat This: Whiskey Burger At Flying Saucer Downtown

You know them for their huge beer selection, their plate-covered walls, and their semi-outdoor seating, but now the Flying Saucer downtown is making a name for itself with....burgers. During their remodel this spring, the Flying Saucer made some interior cosmetic improvements, but the biggest change was upgrading the kitchen and expanding the menu.

Go Vegan For A Day At Two Vegan Sistas

Ed. Note: In 2018, Two Vegan Sistas closed their Bartlett restaurant. They have reopened as of November 2018, but they are now online ordering only - doing meal plans, catering, and bulk items that you order ahead of time. Even though the restaurant is closed, I want to leave up this article from when contributor Baylee and I sampled some of the Two Vegan Sistas food. Their mission is still the same: to serve lifestyle vegans and curious foodies plant-based and raw meals that taste delicious.

Ed. Note: It's a four-day week! Most of you won't read this until later because of the power outages! But still, who doesn't love a good foodie blog post?! We're doing a food post every day this week! Get excited! This is Day One. Read Day Two's post here. Here's the first from contributor Daniel Bastardo, giving us his thoughts on the revamped LYFE Kitchen downtown.

Diamonds in the Pork: 4 Memphis Barbeque Spots You Need To Try

Ed. Note: I’m happy to share this post from Blake Marcum, our resident beer and BBQ expert. Blake is a Memphis in May Barbecue Contest Grand Champion and he has tried a lot of bbq, so he knows his stuff. If we're honest, Memphis locals are pretty used to hearing about the same local posts over and over. You know the ones. Therefore, Blake had the idea to explore some of the BBQ restaurants that get no love, or are newer, or are just not in the conversation as much.

Benedicts, Beignets, and Breakfast Pizza at Rock 'n' Dough (Closed)

Update: I'm very sad to say that Rock n Dough's East Memphis location is closed. They still have locations in Germantown and Jackson, Tennessee.  In an attempt to break out of a brunch rut, I've been on a mission to try new places for that all-important late morning/early afternoon weekend meal. First up: Rock 'n' Dough Pizza.
