Eat This: Le Delights Banh Mi and Pho

Ed. Note: I'm happy to bring you this blog post from ILM contributor and Memphis foodie Stacey Greenberg.  Update, April 2018: Sadly, it appears that Tuyen no longer works at Le Delights and menu items featured here may no longer be available. As always, please call ahead confirm menus, hours, and prices.
Look who I found! Tuyen Le, the amazing woman who worked at Saigon Le in the Crosstown neighborhood, is now at Le Delights Banh Mi and Pho in Cordova.

Canvas of Memphis Is An Art Gallery In A Bar

In Memphis, it seems like many of our watering holes fall into one of three categories. First, we have the places that are primarily restaurants, but have popular bars in them, i.e., Bari, Local, Half Shell.

Then, there are the dive bars. These are self explanatory and for some reason they sound like they need a "the" in front, like the P&H, the Hi Tone, the Lamplighter. (Or am I the only one who does that?)

Bring The Crew To Hang Out At Loflin Yard Downtown

Loflin Yard is a casual spot with a cool atmosphere - most of it is literally a yard - that's open for dinner during the week. On weekends, it's open during the day and until late.

Group Hangout Spot Downtown Memphis

Loflin has a front bar room that's indoors and serves up craft cocktails and local beer, and you can order food. There's also a building, The Coach House , with another bar. In between, there's a big open lawn with chairs, fire pits, picnic tables, games, and more. Think rustic-but-fancy bbq joint. Tin roofs. Refurbished furniture.

Fino's In East Memphis (Closed)

Ed. Note: Fino's East and Fino's in midtown closed in December 2018, and while there are no plans to reopen the East Memphis Location currently, the midtown locaiton will reopen on April 2, 2019. Read more here. While the east location is closed, you can still read some more about the menu and food below.
Alas, Fino's East - located in Brookhaven Circle next to Brookhaven Pub - closed its doors in December 2018.

These Are The Tortas You're Looking For: Maciel's Tortas and Tacos

For a long time, downtowners (and folks who work in the downtown core) have wanted a simple, affordable taco joint. I'm happy to say that we have a contender*: an easy, tasty Mexican place that is decidedly the opposite of the high-concept or small plates menus currently saturating the restaurant scene in Memphis.
