Settle in for the winter in Memphis with these ten delicious things to eat and drink in town right now. 1. Gourmet grilled cheese and bison tacos from Fuel Food Truck If you can catch Fuel's food truck (which has a slick new paint job) on a day when they're offering their gourmet grilled cheese, get it.

In Memphis, it seems like many of our watering holes fall into one of three categories. First, we have the places that are primarily restaurants, but have popular bars in them, i.e., Bari, Local, Half Shell.

Then, there are the dive bars. These are self explanatory and for some reason they sound like they need a "the" in front, like the P&H, the Hi Tone, the Lamplighter. (Or am I the only one who does that?)

Ever since taco/tapas joint Babalu opened in Overton Square a few years ago, I'd been hearing about their allegedly amazing Babalu burger.

Loflin Yard is a casual spot with a cool atmosphere - most of it is literally a yard - that's open for dinner during the week. On weekends, it's open during the day and until late.

Loflin has a front bar room that's indoors and serves up craft cocktails and local beer, and you can order food. There's also a building, The Coach House , with another bar. In between, there's a big open lawn with chairs, fire pits, picnic tables, games, and more. Think rustic-but-fancy bbq joint. Tin roofs. Refurbished furniture.

Ed. Note: Fino's East and Fino's in midtown closed in December 2018, and while there are no plans to reopen the East Memphis Location currently, the midtown locaiton will reopen on April 2, 2019. The heart of South Main has sushi and Asian cuisine option in the form of South Main Sushi and Grill, which opened in 2015, and reopened under new ownership in April of 2018. South Main Sushi & Grill is located across the street from Bluff City Coffee (before it was this, it was Grawmeyer's).
