What’s Open Today In Memphis

List of restaurants open on Monday, February 22, 2021.

This is probably the last day I’ll do an update like this, because most restaurants are back open—though several are takeout only or have limited hours. Don’t forget that a lot of places are closed on Mondays, anyways.

MLGW still has their customers (City of Memphis) under a boil water advisory so restaurants that choose to open must adhere to that.

Suburbs are not affected by this, so nearly every restaurant in those areas is likely to be open at least for takeout.

This list is only good for Monday, Feb. 22, 2021.

Many restaurants are using bottled water, limited menu, disposable plates and cups, etc. so use patience.

If you have some to add, leave it in the comments.

more rants:

SCHD Directive 18 is in place as of Feb. 21.  What does that mean?

  • Places can stay open until midnight.
  • You can sit at the bar in socially-distanced pairs.
  • Capacity restrictions are lifted BUT social distancing and 6-person-per-table limitations are in place, so most restaurants will have a limited capacity to 50 percent anyways.
  • You have to wear a mask when not eating or drinking.

Between the ice melting, water boiling, warmer temps, and later hours allowed at bars and restaurants, everyone wants to go buck wild. Please, please try to be reasonable. We ALL miss going out and having fun in a crowd and drinking at the bar but let’s not forget that the pandemic is NOT OVER. Don’t act a fool. Wear a mask even if you absolutely hate it.

Order takeout drinks (yes you can still do this!) instead of everyone trying to go drink inside until 11:59 p.m. at once.

IF Y’ALL DON’T START TIPPING ON TAKEOUT ORDERS……I’M GOING TO LOSE MY TEMPER. I have heard endless horror stories from servers and delivery drivers about not getting tipped while risking their life to bring you food or get to work and prepare it for you. ENOUGH. Tip!

This is a good post with very good points. It probably deserves an award. Figure out what you think is a good tip, add 10% to that and don’t be steaming turd.

Chase, thank you so much. That means a lot. Haha! Just trying to shoot straight.

Maggie, you're so welcome! I've added The Cupboard.

Thank you for the reminders! I’m as pleased as anyone that we seem to be coming out of the worst of it but it can’t hurt to be careful.

Also, I’ve never worked for tips or delivered so I’m unclear what is appropriate (even more so in today’s climate). Is it safe to assume that 20-25% is enough?

Hi Jen! Yes, 20% - 25% is the standard. For delivery especially in rough conditions, I would consider tipping more based on the situation.
