You can dispute a lot of the items on the 100 Things to Eat in Memphis list, but you'd best leave the Greek Burger from Alex's alone.

It's perfection—a thick, juicy puck of seasoned beef topped with cheese, mustard, ketchup and a tomato slice, squashed between the halves of a regular bun. It's nothing fancy, but it's filling, and it comes with a side of seasoned steak fries.

We're missing out on the best live music night in Memphis' blues clubs, when people pack tiny juke joints to hear authentic blues, R&B and soul music. Which is why I'm standing on my porch with my husband Mathew, waiting for local artist and tour guide Tad Pierson to pick us up in his pink 1955 Cadillac so that we can check out three clubs. Tad Pierson gave his first tour in 1989.
