Guest Post: Slow Southern Style
Editors note: I Love Memphis has started to partner with awesome bloggers from around the region to share the best of what's happening in our cities. I'm super excited about this post by Christy Lorio, the New Orleans blogger behind Slow Southern Style. She and I traded lists of our favorite local designers. To read my post, visit her blog.

Get Pampered at Nail Bar on the Island
I'm a nail biter. I always have been. Between that, roller derby, and a general lack of time and patience, my hands aren't exactly pretty.
When I booked my first-ever manicure appointment at Nail Bar on the Island last week, I was worried that they would judge my sawed-off stumps and callouses. They are, after all, an upscale nail salon in Harbortown, and I am pedicure-paranoid.
I shouldn't have worried - everyone working in the shop was completely welcoming and friendly. When I walked in, there was no wait.
Send It By Mail at Mrs. Post
I wish I got more mail (fun mail, not bills). There's something about getting postcards and letters and invitations that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. And in a world where most people just email or send a Facebook message, finding a piece of fun mail is even more special.
This is why I love Mrs. Post.
Hunt For Vintage Treasures at Garbo's Resale
One of the best parts about visiting my grandma when I was a kid was getting to play dress up with the huge closet full of vintage clothes and hats in her attic. Most of the clothes weren't anything special, but the hats were amazing.
Going to Garbo's Resale is sort of like going shopping in my grandma's attic.
