One of the best parts about visiting my grandma when I was a kid was getting to play dress up with the huge closet full of vintage clothes and hats in her attic. Most of the clothes weren't anything special, but the hats were amazing. Going to Garbo's Resale is sort of like going shopping in my grandma's attic.

South Main's newest shop, Charlotte, is perfect for those of you who insist on taking everything apart. The jewelry at Charlotte is sort of like adult Legos. All of the pieces in the collection fit with all of the other pieces. Meaning, the stones in the middle of the rings can become necklace pendants, necklaces can be snapped together to make longer necklaces, and round, flat stones and discs can be mixed and matched.

There's almost nothing better than knowing you've walked into the record store on exactly the right day. You know the day I'm talking about. It's the day when the LP you've wanted forever is not only in stock, but in great shape and on sale. It's the day when hard-to-find classics are just perched on the shelves like they've been waiting for you. The day when the bins are replenished.

It's weirdly quiet inside the Memphis Drum Shop.

It's only been seven days since Amy Hoyt became director of the MIFA Store, but the thrift shop has already undergone some major changes. The first big change is that the store now carries flats of annual plants.

In the year since I started the blog, I've visited a lot of amazing place and see some incredible things. But nothing prepared me for my trip to the Shoe and Boot Outlet on Summer Ave. It was amazing.
