South Main boutique Hoot + Louise has a few friends in town today for a special pop-up shop. Artist Anna Wunderlich is selling her small, reasonably priced paintings, and the crew from Amelia (an adorably twee boutique in Oxford, Miss.) has brought up a ton of housewares, gifts and jewelry.

Memphis is a little bit closer to Silicon Valley this week. The Everywhere Else Startup Conference, which celebrates entrepreneurs from places that aren't coastal technology hubs - is at the Cook Convention Center through Tuesday.
