Wednesday News Update: Tastiest Town, Tarik Black, Restaurant Jobs and a Parking Garage

It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: it's Memphis news update time.

Today, we find out that Tarik Black is leaving the U of M, we're not the Tastiest Town, and Phil from "Duck Dynasty" is coming to visit. Also, a new restaurant is hiring, a parking garage is being debated for Cooper-Young, and we've unearthed footage of one of the greatest mayoral debates of all time.

Today in Memphis, we've got a remembrance, a big concert, and a birthday celebration that's guaranteed to make you smile. Also, there's a recipe from a local blogger/author for some tacos that you're going to want to make for dinner tonight.

There are a ton of crawfish festivals happening in Memphis this spring, so it's only appropriate that Instagrammer @annecduvall snapped this photo of a mudbug on top of the world (or at least, on top of Memphis).

Tacos, Hot Dogs, Juan-Tons: Meet ¡Chiwawa! (Closed)

(Ed. Note: Chiwawa is closed.) Of all of the exciting new things coming to Overton Square, the one that I've been the most excited about is Chiwawa, Taylor Berger's new casual Mexican restaurant in the old Chicago Pizza Factory space on Madison. I absolutely love what they've done to the building. They took an iconic, but ghostly old pizza restaurant and turned it into something sleek and modern, but still very welcoming.

Free Music Alert: Levitt Shell Announces their Summer Concert Series

Go ahead and mark your calendars - the Levitt Shell has released the schedule for their free summer concert series.

If you've never been before, the shows are family friendly and super fun. You're allowed to bring blankets and lawn chairs, and coolers and picnic baskets are welcome. Alcohol is allowed for those over 21, and if you're not into bringing food, there's usually at least one food truck usually on hand.
