It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: it's Memphis news update time.

Today, we find out that Tarik Black is leaving the U of M, we're not the Tastiest Town, and Phil from "Duck Dynasty" is coming to visit. Also, a new restaurant is hiring, a parking garage is being debated for Cooper-Young, and we've unearthed footage of one of the greatest mayoral debates of all time.

But first, check out this modified stop sign, spotted in one of the neighborhoods south of U of M by longtime ILM friend Alex M.

This afternoon, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are having the best house concert ever.

Memphis musicians Justin Timberlake, Mavis Staples, Steve Cropper, Ben Harper, Charlie Musselwhite and Sam Moore will play a special concert at the White House this afternoon.

The Found Footage Festival, a touring ode to funny, forgotten VHS, returns to Memphis next Monday for one night only.

Memphis Fashion Week is one of those rare events that makes you feel like you're somewhere other than Memphis; somewhere more cosmopolitan and stylish and cutting edge. It's really pretty cool to see local designers, models and stylists come together to create an event that wouldn't be at all out of place in New York or L.A. in Memphis.

Reader Kerry Hayes spotted this sticker in the Sears Crosstown building last week.

I'm not sure if this was part of some kind of citywide branding campaign or what, but I kind of love it (even if it just likes it here).

Today in Memphis, we've got a remembrance, a big concert, and a birthday celebration that's guaranteed to make you smile. Also, there's a recipe from a local blogger/author for some tacos that you're going to want to make for dinner tonight.

There are a ton of crawfish festivals happening in Memphis this spring, so it's only appropriate that Instagrammer @annecduvall snapped this photo of a mudbug on top of the world (or at least, on top of Memphis).

If you've never been before, the shows are family friendly and super fun. You're allowed to bring blankets and lawn chairs, and coolers and picnic baskets are welcome. Alcohol is allowed for those over 21, and if you're not into bringing food, there's usually at least one food truck usually on hand.
