Description:

A Really Bad Time with Alex Kumin (Comedy Central, TimeOut USA Comic to Watch, NBC) is a darkly funny, unexpectedly warm solo show about surviving the kinds of things people don’t usually bring up in polite conversation: cancer and sexual trauma*! With sharp jokes and honest storytelling, she unpacks why we’re more comfortable sympathizing with some illnesses rather than others, the insidiousness of shame, and what it’s like to navigate a U.S. healthcare system that often feels more surreal than supportive.

It’s a show about connection—how we talk about hard things, avoid them, and sometimes find each other anyway. Equal parts irreverent and heartfelt, you will laugh, you might cry and you’ll definitely leave feeling a little less alone. With jokes, stories, and a suspicious amount of charm, Alex turns life’s darkest material into something communal, cathartic, and genuinely hilarious.

*She promises you will laugh. For real.

Doors open at 7, show starts at 8.

About The Pit Comedy Club:

The Pit Comedy Club (formerly Flyway Comedy Club) is a pop-up comedy club in Memphis that showcases the funniest local and nationally touring comedians we can find every Thursday night at Flyway Brewing at 8 PM + any other dates we get a very funny comedian come through that we think Memphis HAS to see.

We occasionally do shows at other venues, like the Hi Tone, around Memphis, so we rebranded to something less geography-specific so we can promote all our shows under the same socials and not have to create a new logo if we ever turn this club into a brick-and-mortar thing.
