Win Rock for Love Tickets, Pour One Out for Yosemite Sams and See 25 Elvii Play Basketball
Dr. Harold Toboggans (aka Brent Diggs) would like you to believe that Memphis is full of evil do-gooders that must be stopped. In reality, he's one of the do-gooders - he runs a site called Mind Over Memphis that promotes volunteerism in the Mid-South. You can meet him this weekend (and get "cured" of your helpful ways) at Rock for Love - he's emceeing on Friday night.
In other news:
- Do you want to go to Rock for Love 5, but don't have tickets? Never fear - Ardent is giving away a pass for you and a friend to go to the full weekend of shows and the VIP barbecue.
- Pour one out for Yosemite Sams. The karaoke hole in the wall at the corner of Madison and Cooper is closing on August 27th after 29 years in business. The owner wanted to retire, and Loeb wanted to buy the building. Get your sing-a-longs in while you still can.
- Have you ever wished you could see 25 Elvii playing basketball? Now you can.
- Last weekend, one of Midtown's finest, Chris Davidson, was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident while riding his bike home from the Hi-Tone. I've had several of you ask me to mention that there's going to be a benefit show tomorrow night at the Hi-Tone for Chris. Six bands (including El Dorado and Ruckus and the Angel Sluts) will play, and all of the proceeds will go to Chris's family.

Harold Toboggans
I will not tolerate such slander from the likes of you. We will settle this the old fashioned way Friday night at Rock For Love.
You will pay...
