Let Us Celebrate the Triumphant Return of the Grizzlies With A Feast

The Grizzlies return home tonight after a four game winning streak on the West Coast. If you're heading to FedExForum for the game, I suggest you celebrate with a feast. Here's a rundown of what's new at the Grindhouse, grub-wise. Just to be clear, if you see a sandwich/burger quarter in these photos, it's because these were taken at a tasting I attended a few weeks ago. You'll get a whole burger when you order at FedExForum.

If you’ve ever wandered through 17 acres of manicured gardens on a crisp Memphis morning, paused in front of a French Impressionist masterpiece, or toasted to a summer night at Art on the Rocks then you already know what the Dixon means to this city. This year, Dixon Gallery and Gardens turns 50, and Memphis is celebrating in a big way.

If you turned off the TV in frustration sometime in the third quarter, you missed the Grizzlies staging a comback, Tony Allen selling a technical so hard that he should have a spot on QVC, overtime, then a not-so-bad loss. It was like the fourth quarter was trying to make up for the first three being so boring / depressing.

Is anyone else having a hard time waking up after last night's playoff game between the Grizz and the OKC Thunder?

It was a late night rollercoaster of emotions: the terrible first half; the somewhat better third quarter; the fourth-quarter redemption; the overtime that had us all a little scared that it would turn into another three-overtime slumber party. I don't know what the aftermath of the game was like at the Forum, but at Alex's, there was a dance party to Chuck Berry's "Memphis, Tennessee".
