It's going to be a great weekend for live music in Memphis. The Fareveller music festival is bringing 38 local and national bands to four different venues for a weekend of aural awesomeness.

It always makes me happy to see a new business open, especially when that new business opens in a spot that's been unoccupied forever. In more than 20 cities across the country, people are grabbing their friends, getting dressed up and heading out to play boardgames.

I've been to the Blue Monkey for drinks plenty of times, but until today, I hadn't ever tried the food. The menu is fairly basic, full of mostly standards like sandwiches, salads, po boys, pizzas and baked potatoes.

Some of Memphis' best pizza is made by a guy named Juicy Jim at a bar on the Highland Strip. On the menu, the pizza is described as "New Jersey Style". I'm not entirely sure what that means, but judging by the pie, it's like New York Style, but with smaller slices.

Sometimes, it’s tough to make a decision, especially at a restaurant where everything on the menu looks potentially amazing. Flight is perfect for the indecisive. The downtown restaurant is built around the premise that no one should have to choose just one entree. All of their entrees and appetizers come in “flights”, themed trios of three ounce portions. If you want more of something, there are entree-sized portions available.

A few weeks ago, I wrote a story on the proposed Midtown Overlay, a zoning plan that will affect new development in the center of town. Some of the information was a little confusing, and in frustration, I turned to Twitter and asked "Does anyone understand the Midtown Overlay?"
