Eat Well (and Eat a Lot) at Cordova's All-You-Can Eat Sushi Buffet

Sushi is good, but it's got one inherent flaw: it's nearly impossible to get full from eating it. That is, unless  you're at Eat Well Japanese buffet. The huge Cordova buffet is perfect for sushi lovers, Asian food lovers and the adventurous. For $20, you can make as many trips to the giant buffet as you can handle.

Eat in the Middle East at Summer's Ave.'s Newest Restaurant

I need to take a second and say a huge thank you to reader Caleb for pointing me in the direction of Middle East Bakery and Grill. The restaurant, which opened about two weeks ago on Summer Ave., is part Middle Eastern restaurant, part grocery store and part bakery. While the regular dinner menu is limited to some Middle Eastern basics - think shawarma, tekka, lamb and rice - there's a different, more exotic, special every day.

Imagine: Memphis' First All-Vegan Restaurant

Memphis is a city that loves its meat. We have no fewer than four festivals celebrating meat of some kind, and even though we have options, I get a lot of emails from vegetarian and vegan visitors that feel a little left out when they come to visit. But fear not, herbivores - Memphis now has an all-vegan cafe. The Imagine Vegan Cafe opened last week in the old Casablanca space in Cooper-Young.

Lenten Time Means Waffle Time in Memphis

Just because you work in the kitchen at the Calvary Waffle Shop, it doesn't mean you get to make the waffles. If it's your first year, it doesn't even guarantee you a place in the salad shop, and you can forget about making dessert. When Doug Franklin started volunteering at the Waffle Shop, he was assigned to the "chicken ranch", the area of the kitchen where roasted chickens are de-skinned and de-boned.

Take the Shelby Farms Greenline to the New Cheffie's Cafe

After a 10 year hiatus, Cheffie's has re-opened in High Point Terrace. Clearly, the restaurant was missed because half of Memphis seemed to be having lunch there during the soft opening yesterday. It didn't seem overly packed, though, because the space is so huge. There was plenty of space at the long cafeteria-style tables and at couches. When it's nice out, there are plenty of tables on the shady patio. While Cheffie's has a small menu of classic sandwiches and salads, it's entirely more fun to choose the "create your own" option.
