Everyone, meet Andrea. She's the owner of Style Junkie Boutique, a tiny, colorful shopinside of the Marshall Arts gallery downtown.

Though the mayoral race is long over and Mongo lost (again), his bright blue and orange stickers are still posted all over the city. Mongo, aka, Prince Mongo, aka, Robert Hodges, is a Memphian (and occasional Floridian) who claims to be an alien from the planet Zambodia.

It's Friday night, and the Christian Brothers University campus is dark, save for one room on the second floor of the engineering building. The classroom is completely packed with people sitting at long white tables. A few type on laptops covered in stickers.

About two minutes into his set at Rock for Love a few weeks ago, Skewby had me smitten. The 21 year-old rapper was bouncing around the tiny Hi-Tone stage in front of a crowd of midtown hipsters, talking about Vh1's "Behind the Music" between songs. That night, I went home and downloaded his remix of Flobots' "No Handlebars".

Memphis isn't really known for its mob ties, but there's one group in town that you should be aware of. Maybe you've seen them out, huddled in a corner of a restaurant, heads bowed, looking hard at their hands. You may have noticed their distinctive, colorful tags on buildings all over town.
