A few days ago, someone on Facebook asked me what the deal is with that little key shack on Poplar Ave.

A few weeks ago, I stopped into Davis-Kidd to pick up some new notebooks. When I was done, I took a quick walk around Laurelwood.

Ed. Note: Davis-Kidd Booksellers is now Booksellers at Laurelwood and the cafe within is called The Booksellers Bistro. There's something really pleasant and satisfying about spending a rare snowy afternoon in a warm, cozy bookstore.

I have a really hard time finding clothes that I like. It seems like it's difficult to find casual, but really cool adult girl clothes that are more appropriate for work or errands than going to the club and I've all but given up on trying to shop for anything at the mall.

Like many of the best things in Memphis, the Jun Lee Trading Company doesn't look like much from the outside. The windows are covered with panels, the building is painted in dingy whites and browns and the main entrance (and parking) are in the back of the building.

A few nights ago, I noticed a new shop with a big grand opening sign on Madison between Second and Third.

One thing that the owners of Thigh High Jeans want everyone to be clear on is that they're a Memphis company. Their studio is located in downtown Memphis, they  print "Made in Memphis" on all of their tags, and they recently got permission to use mayor A.C.
