Calvary Episcopal Church's Waffle Shop and Lenten Preaching Series is actually more than a tradition, it's an institution. Since 1928, the Calvary Episcopal Church in downtown Memphis has sold lunch in their basement on weekdays from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday.

Soup Sunday is a Memphis tradition. Every year, thousands of Memphians gather to enjoy samples of soups, appetizers, breads, dips, and desserts from dozens of local restaurants.
It's a smorgasbord, really. It's impossible to eat everything there, though many may try... Even better, all the ticket proceeds support Youth Villages. Tickets are available for purchase.
