Madewell, J. Crew's little sister brand, opened its first Tennessee store today at Saddle Creek.

Normally, I don't get all excited about national chains coming to Memphis, but this one is a personal favorite. Their clothes are (obviously) made well, and they're classic - the sort of things aren't going to be dated in six months.

Last weekend three new MemShops opened on Broad Ave., and while all of them are interesting (the other two are an art gallery and a soapmaker), I'm most excited about Five in One's new Social Club.

This week (April 21 - 27) marks the first annual Memphis Beer Week, which is exactly what it sounds like: seven glorious days of beer-related celebrations, tastings, beer dinners and samplings.

Whole Foods Poplar has given me a gigantic bag full of locally-produced groceries to give away to one lucky I Love Memphis reader. All of the items in the (very full) bag come from within 200 miles of Memphis.
