The Orpheum's annual Summer Movie series is one of my favorite annual events, and it begins tonight with a zombie-themed double feature. The theatre, which is primarily used for Broadway shows returns to its movie house roots on weekends in summer. The air conditioner is cranked up, there are all kinds of pre-show shenanigans (like costume contests, themed cocktails, etc.), and people get very, very into whatever is playing.
Back in November, I asked y'all what should go in the empty space at the corner of Cooper and Young, which seems to be a tricky location for restaurants in the last few years.
In the last few years, a lot has gone into turning Overton Square back into a fun place to hang out. Maybe you haven't been in a while. Maybe you go all the time, but always go to the same places and want to try something new. Either way, here's a guide to what's up with Overton Square now.
