RESTAURANT NEWS AND OPENINGS
VICE & VIRTUE COMING TO TOM LEE PARK
I can't wait for the grand opening of Tom Lee Park on September 2 and one reason, of many, is because we'll be able to enjoy a cup of joe from Vice & Virtue. The roaster will have their first stand alone building (you can find them right now in the Arrive hotel lobby) where they'll serve freshly brewed coffees, pastries and snacks, an all-new mocktail menu just in time for opening day. Word is cocktails are on the horizon too once the proper permits are acquired.
PAPER PLATE PAVILION ALSO COMING TO TOM LEE PARK
Right next to Vice & Virtue will be Paper Plate Pavilion -- a Memphis-based food truck. I haven't had the pleasure of trying them yet but one look at their menu paints a delectable picture. I'll be eager to try the Mac Daddy brisket plate and park guests are going to love the Smoked Jerked Chicken & Rice topped with Pineapple Salsa that's served inside a pineapple.
BELLTOWER COFFEE TO OPEN SECOND LOCATION AT SHELBY FARMS PARK
I'm loving this trend of coffee shops opening in our city parks. Coffee is best enjoyed in the beautiful outdoors after all. Belltower is opening their second location at the First Horizon Foundation Visitor Center. They'll still serve up the same drinks at their Highland location with some great Grab and Go food options.
MUGGIN COFFEE TO OPEN SECOND LOCATION IN UPTOWN
Speaking of coffee, Muggin Coffee also is expanding. Now you'll be able to get their tasty coffee both in Whitehaven and Uptown. The new spot will be located next to Malone Park at 606 N Main Street Memphis. The soft opening will be held soon on Aug. 26.

BISHOP HAS A NEW MENU/REFRESH APPROACH
It's a taste of France right here in Memphis. Bishop closed for a week to refresh and had a grand re-opening previewing their brand new dinner menu. They fine-tuned the space and revamped their systems. From wine, to appetizers, to dessert, it was all perfection.

HIVE BAGEL AND DELI TO OPEN ON FRONT STREET
After my recent trip to NYC, I've been craving bagels. Good news for me and all bagel fans, Hive is opening up a storefront on Front Street right next to Barware. Hive specializes in NY-style bagels. Storefront coming late 2023.
GLOBAL CAFE HAS BRUNCH
One of our favorite Memphis restaurants is now offering a Sunday brunch featuring breakfast burritos, breakfast tacos, avocado toast (fried egg or vegan), presidente margaritas and mimosas. There will be a rotating mimosa fruit flavor of the day too.
FANCY'S HAS A NEW MENU
A new menu has landed at Fancy's Fish House. At first glance the revamped menu looks like they made extensive changes. Click here to see it. Some menu items we're excited to try out: popcorn crawfish, very crunchy sticky wings, Maine lobster roll, and the soft-shell crab sandwich.
LOBBYIST OPENS PATIO WITH HAPPY HOURS
One of Memphis' best new restaurants is expanding their footprint with the opening of their newly remodeled patio. Happy hour on the patio is offered every day 5 - 10 p.m. $6 well drinks, $7 classic cocktails, $5 drafts, and $7 wines. Read our blog about our visit to Lobbyist here.
PLANT BASED HEAT TO OPEN FRONT STREET STOREFRONT
This morning I passed the former bakery front of Two Girls and a Whip and noticed a sign that made me thrilled to see. Plant Based Heat is bringing their vegan comfort food to downtown. Founded by former radio personality and entrepreneur, Ralph “RJ Groove” Johnson, opened Plant Based Heat's first brick and mortar location in his hometown of Memphis, Tn. June 19, 2021(Juneteenth. My bank account isn't ready for this one! Open date TBD.
NEW DIVE BAR EXPECTED AT FORMER PRINTER'S ALLEY LOCATION
The location of the infamous Printer's Alley (RIP) may soon come back to life with a new dive bar per the Memphis Business Journal. I'm here for the name alone: Louis Connelly's Bar for Fun Times and Friendship and … also Karaoke?
