City Nature Challenge – BioBlitz at Overton Park

Join the City Nature Challenge, a worldwide movement to document wild nature and help fight biodiversity loss! Over one weekend each year, hundreds of cities around the world will compete to see who can record the most observations of wildlife, creating a snapshot of nature that scientists can monitor to see how our natural world is changing over time.

At this event, Overton Park Conservancy staff will lead an exploratory BioBlitz in Overton Park, where every photo you upload to iNaturalist becomes a data point that helps scientists understand and protect wildlife. We'll record wildlife such as plants, insects, fungi, reptiles, birds, and mammals. 

Last year, our community contributed close to 2.7K observations! Together, we can build an even stronger picture of nature in Memphis. No experience with iNaturalist necessary - all ages welcome.
