One problem with many of the newer mom & pop places is that you cannot get anything decent to drink since Millennials think soda is from the fountains of hell. If they do sell soda it is sugared only or sweetened with Truvia or Splenda (yuck). I do not drink tea, do not like coffee, do not drink liquor, rarely drink wine or beer and hate water with any meal. I drink water every day, just not at meals. That leaves juice and soda- make mine a Diet Coke with NutraSweet.

Holly, I think your blog is really cool. My husband and I will be making our first visit to Memphis in late February. We are in our middle 70s and can't do a lot of walking. Will be checking back to see what's happening around that time. It would be great if you could point out places/events that are close to public transportation. We will be staying in midtown, not too far from Beale St.
