Memphis, it’s almost our favorite day of the year, 901 Day! Each September 1, we celebrate our city with live music, parties, pop-up events, and plenty of sweet deals from local businesses that will get you saying Memphis, Memphis, Memphis!

From block parties on Beale to lantern parades along the river, there’s no shortage of ways to show your 901 pride. Keep scrolling for the ultimate list of events, specials, and discounts, and check back often. We’ll keep adding new ways to celebrate the most beautiful land in the world.

MEMPHIS 901 DAY 2025 EVENTS


901 Day on Beale - FREE

Project Pat is headlining what will be a great day of celebrating the M! The City of Memphis' official 901 Day event will take over Beale Street from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and there is A LOT planned. It's not a true Memphis celebration without local live music. They'll have fashion pop-ups showcasing Memphis-made style, art displays and interactive exhibits, a fun zone with inflatables and kid activities, teen space to dance and connect, dance performances, local vendors and more. Expect performances from Ekpe Abioto, The Sensational Barnes Brothers, Tyke T, Hope Clayburn’s Soul Scrimmage, Brezay, Ekpe Abioto, The Big We, Stax Music Academy, DJ Alpha Whiskey and more.
 

Tom Lee’s Mississippi River Gumption Revival Lantern Parade - FREE

Memphis River Parks is celebrating the centennial anniversary of Tom Lee's heroic river rescue (the namesake of Tom Lee Park). The lantern parade participants will meet at 7 p.m. at Beale Street Landing's roof before setting off at 7:45 p.m. Everyone will march through the park with the Lucky 7 Brass Band and the commemorative lanterns. After the parade, enjoy food, drinks and music under the Sunset Canopy.

Want to march in the parade? Join a lantern workshop every Saturday at Beale Street Landing for just $12. There are family and adults-only lantern workshops you can sign up for.


Project 901 Block Party - FREE

A cultural activation put on by VSNR, this event is rooted in art, local businesses, and community storytelling. Taking place at Memphis Made's The Ravine, this event will activate gallery walls, food trucks, DJ set block parties, vendors, live storytelling, and more. RSVP here.


Unite Memphis Walk & Run 

On 901 Day, the city unites to celebrate. Why not also unite for the Unite Memphis 5k and 1 mile race? Unite Memphis is a movement designed to bring healing from the past, honor in the present, and hope for the future. The race sets off from the National Civil Rights Museum at 9:30 a.m. but arrive early for booths and activations starting at 7:45 a.m. There will be a 9:01 a.m. welcome from Mayor Paul Young with entertainment to follow ahead of the race. Stick around after for the awards presentation, food trucks and booths.

Open Genre - 901 Day Edition

The ultimate DJ-powered party and creative networking experience returns for a special 901 Day celebration. At 600 Marshall Ave. (Edge District), they'll takeover with 10+ DJs spinning for 10-15 minute sets, all paying homage to Memphis music and artists across generations.

Cheers to the 901 at Ghost River Brewing Co.

From 1:30 to 9:30 p.m. on September 1, Ghost River’s South Main taproom is throwing a true Memphis party. Dance all day with DJ1Luv, DJ Mary the K, DJ Sketchz, DJ Anonymuz, and a special performance by Memphis legend Al Kapone. Plus, Lana’s Lines will be on-site offering 901-inspired ink. It’s the perfect way to celebrate our city, mane!
