Eat This: Nachos from Slider Inn
Nobody really goes to Slider Inn for the nachos, but they should. Tiny burgers may be what they do most often, but the nachos might be what they do best.
Look at those things!
Their nachos are like a sour cream-capped mountain of deliciousness. You can get them plain or with meat, but either way, they come as a big mess of thin tortilla chips, melted shredded cheese, black beans, pico de gallo and jalapeños. The serving is big enough for one extremely hungry person, two normal people or three very light eaters.
If it's warm outside—or if you're craving something refreshing—order their famous Jameson slushie made with lemonade, ginger beer, bitters, and whiskey.
Slider Inn has two locations, one midtown and one downtown, and both are open every day from 11 a.m. until 3 a.m. The kitchens close at 2 a.m.
About the midtown location: There's parking in the lot next door, it becomes 21+ after 5 p.m. because they allow smoking inside, the inside is small but there's a large patio (partially heated/covered) outside, it's super dog friendly.
About the downtown location: There's nearby metered street parking, it's all ages all the time, it has a much more spacious interior and an upstairs lounge, in Spring 2020 they'll open a large patio space and outdoor bar and I'm pretty dang sure it will be as dog friendly as the OG location.
If you are, in fact, interested in their tiny burgers, they have a bunch of different kinds - classic beef, fried chicken, falafel, steak, etc.
