Let's Get This Party Started!
A good vibe is always the goal when it's time to go out. Memphis' nightlife scene is so diverse and lively, but here are 10 clubs and lounges I tend to frequent a lot. Celebrate a birthday, go for happy hour, or dance at these spots.
Please note most of these clubs and lounges are 21+.
Love
7144 Winchester Road
Eat, drink, and socialize at this day to night hot spot. The renovated space includes three bars, plenty of seating, spacious patio, and the cutest bathroom for the ladies (I’ve never been in the men’s room, but I’m sure it’s just as nice.) Each day is a different vibe whether it’s Sunday brunch or R&B Friday. It’s always a celebration at Love.
Cache42 Kitchen & Cocktails
4202 Hacks Cross Road
One of the newest spots, owned by Memphis’ own rapper MoneyBagg Yo, is such a vibe. This is definitely the place to go for drinks. They have THE best blueberry lemon drop that I recommend to everyone. During the weekend and busy nights, it does get packed. You should definitely make a reservation ahead of time.
District XII Social Club
6642 Winchester Road
Another new spot on the nightlife scene that checks all the boxes. There’s a huge circular bar in the center of the club that immediately caught my eye the first time I went. Whether you want to eat good, take a sip or two, or vibe to music, District XII is the place for you.
Eight & Sand
545 S Main Street
Head down the iconic staircase under the neon signs to this lobby lounge. They have curated playlists and live DJs for the ultimate vibes. The upper deck is the place to be when the weather gets warmer-- they frequently host live music events in the outdoor space. Catch a happy hour each weekday or have some fun at their specialty events and DJ sets.
Thrive Social Bar
1680 Madison Avenue
If you’re ready to get up and dance, you’ve got to head to Thrive. The DJ is always playing the hottest line dance music that everyone in the building hops up to 1, 2, step to. On Sundays, they usually host Art Unplugged that puts creatives behind the mic to share their comedy, poetry, or vocals.
Esco Memphis Restaurant & Tapas
158 Lt. George W. Lee Avenue
Anyone who knows me can tell you I LOVE 2 Chainz. I was so excited when he announced the opening of his spot in Memphis. From a robot that’ll bring your food out to the DJ booth being the front of a vintage car, Esco provides all the vibes. It’s also the perfect spot to go after a Grizzlies or Tiger’s game.
Cru Lounge
1532 Madison Avenue
Their slogan is to literally “Catch A Vibe.” You can’t miss Cru when riding down Madison Avenue (we love a good rhyme.) The glow of bright green lights fill the space which is one of my favorite things about Cru. You have to try their shrimp or rasta pasta as you dance to the music and drink the crafted drinks.
Paula & Raiford's Disco
14 S Second Street
Your next neon-filled night has to be at the Disco! It's a party as soon as you walk in as you move and groove through the glowing floors and space full of color and handprints. It's cash only, so stop by the ATM before hand.
Robusto’s by Havana Mix
250 Peabody Place #205
Cigar lovers, this one’s for you. This cigar bar located Downtown features the area’s largest selection of premium cigars. In between puffs, grab their signature drink ‘The Beale Street Blue.’ This is the perfect spot to chill, sip, puff, and enjoy live music.
WKND Hang Suite
115 Vance Avenue
The WKND is one of the OG lounges, at least in my day. They have an enclosed and heated patio that’s perfect for any weather. You can eat and dine but by 10 p.m., be ready– that’s when the party starts. Order some honey gold wings while you’re there.
