This weekend, a legendary but lesser-known Memphis band is finally playing in front of a massive audience. "Nothing Can Hurt Me", aka, the Big Star documentary, is being released in theatres (including Studio on the Square) on Friday.

Dishcrawls are a series progressive dinners where you and 40 other foodies eat your way through a specific neighborhood over the course of an evening. It's like a pub crawl, but with food instead of beers.

There's no reason to stop going to the Levitt Shell when their early summer live concert series ends on July 13th. The Shell is hosting a different kind of live music from July 18th though August 24th - they're hosting Indie Memphis' third annual summer concert film series.

With three new craft breweries opening in Memphis in the next few months, 2013 is going to be an excellent year for locally-made beer.

It's going to be a while before Wiseacre and Memphis Made are up and running, but the third brewery, High Cotton, now has its beers available on tap in a handful of Memphis restaurants.

Memphians have a few time-tested methods of dealing with our long, humid summers: crank the AC, eat tons of popsicles, ice cream and snow cone, beg, borrow or steal swimming pool access or (and) cool down with summer-appropriate cocktails, preferrably on a patio.
