One of my favorite things to come out of Memphis in the past few years is the MemShop initiative that the Mayor's Innovation Delivery Team launched. It's such a cool concept: help entrepreneurs bring local retail to empty spaces by helping the shop owners out with rent for the first six months. It's working, too.

The Broad Avenue Arts District is staying up late tonight for their first ever Night Market.

Last year, Brady Lowe (the creative force behind Cochon 555) launched a very Memphis-specific event: a high-end barbecue festival featuring local and national chef teams cooking heritage breed pigs on Labor Day weekend.

Cochon Heritage BBQ returns this year with a new schedule, a new venue, and the same insane amount of pork.
