The Mighty Olive is a gourmet olive oil and vinegar shop that opened in East Memphis this week. The store offers over 40 different varieties of oil and vinegar, from blood orange extra virgin olive oil to serrano honey vinegar. I stopped in to check it out.
Before there was Hustle & Flow, and way before the Footloose remake, there was The Poor & Hungry. Director Craig Brewer has finally released the latter for download and on hard copy. I've been hearing about the movie for years, and finally seeing it did not disappoint.
The Mid-South chapter of the Red Cross is hosting an after party following their annual Red Boa Ball fundraiser this Saturday. DJs from Paula and Raiford's Disco, food from Local Gastropub, and an extreme amount of dancing are on the agenda for Just Red: The After Party. I have two tickets to give away.

Overton Park has its trails and bike paths. The Shelby Farms Greenline is super popular with cyclists, runners, and walkers. The Broad Avenue area is hoppin'. It's only natural to link up these Memphis locations. Thus, the Hampline.
The Broad Avenue Fall Art Walk this Friday night is going to be the biggest yet, with about 70 local artists. All the studios, galleries, and businesses will be open, and there will be plenty of music and dance performances.

Forty local artists will come together this Thursday night at the Clark Opera Center to offer their work for sale at the 12th Annual Art for Hope. The event benefits the Hope House, and you can win two tickets by commenting on this post.

Memphis Chef Jennifer McCullough recently released her line of seafood dips in Kroger. I hosted a little taste-testing party with a couple of girlfriends to try the three available flavors: Herbed Crawfish, Buffalo-style Shrimp, and Southwestern Crab. Here is what we thought.
