Thursday News Update: Tennessee Beer Run Edition

Dance Parties Alert! Jungle Boogie and '80s Prom

One question I get sometimes is "where can I go dancing in Memphis?" I also hear comments like "I wish there were dance parties in Memphis". While we have plenty of clubs and bars where you can dance in Memphis, aka where DJs regularly perform for established dancing-friendly nights, but in terms of an This Is A Dance Party With A Theme And Everyone Is Attending Specifically To Dance thing, Jungle Boogie is arguably the only one.

Indie Wednesdays Film Series Lineup

Indie Memphis will bring the film-loving fun of their festival to the rest of the year in 2017, with a series of indie films each Wednesday. All screenings begin at 7 p.m. Movies at Malco's Studio on the Square or Ridgeway Cinema are $10, and movies at Crosstown Arts are Pay-What-You-Can. A New Place For Memphis Music: The Bluff on Highland

The Bluff, a new Memphis music venue located in the former Newby's theater, opened to the public on Monday January 9. Goodbye dark, decrepit venues with strange bathrooms. Hello, shiny new bar on the Highland Strip. The Bluff is a totally renovated space with three bars, two patios, 30 TVs, a big stage with a dance floor, and a balcony.
