This month's feature is Memphis-based indie rock band Snowglobe and just released their 8th studio album The Fall and a new EP entitled The Climb. Snowglobe has been a band for 24 years. What started as a group of old high-school friends has swelled to include as much as ten people onstage.

These days, Snowglobe is mostly a studio band that consists of Tim Regan, Brad Postlethwaite, Jeff Hulett, Brandon Robertson, Nahshon Benford, Luke White and John Whittemore.

Our interview with Snowglobe's Tim Regan:

Snowglobe has been a band for two decades, can you describe what that journey has been like?

It's the journey of life.  Not only have we been a band for 24 years, we all pretty much grew up together in Memphis.  So we've been through graduations, bar mitzvah's, break ups, marriages, birth of some pretty cool kids, spring breaks, death of friends, beach trips, European vacations, midnight fire pit parties, and late night dancing at Wild Bill's.

We've been through this life together.  I'm pretty positive that somehow comes across in the music we make.

You just released your 8th studio album, what was the approach with this album?

We're still all very excited about music and songwriting.  So we're constantly sending each other demos and home recordings.  We wanted to do this all in the recording studio this time around.  So whenever we were able to all get together, or even just some of us, we jumped in with Toby Vest and Pete Mathews and Kevin Cubbins to make some music together.

Is there a song that is especially special to the band and why?

They are all our little babies to be honest but this album features the first song on a Snowglobe album by our dear friend and longtime band mate Luke White.  It's called "Willow Tree" and it transports you to a beautiful and surreal world that I would like to live in.

What about Memphis inspires you guys creatively?

Memphis has the best BBQ, late night dives, good books stores and record shops, and the might Mississippi River, but for me it's all about the people.  Life long friendships with friends that quickly and easily become family.

Which place gives you that Memphis vibe?

Grabbing a coffee on Otherlands patio, lunch at Payne's BBQ, and heading into Hi/Low Recording Studios for a session.

Do you have a story that changed you as a band a moment in time that moved the needle for you?

For me personally it was when we were on tour in the early 2000's.  We played a big fun show in Atlanta.  There was a rumor floating around that OutKast was going to play a show in Memphis the next night.  So, unbeknownst to me, most of the band decided to leave me in Atlanta and drive back to Memphis early to catch the show.  (the show never happened, just a rumor).  I had all of the money from the show so I spent it all that weekend with my friends in Atlanta and watched a Mike Tyson fight and took a Greyhound bus home.

Where can we hear you?

Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, or buy a couple vinyl records (they sound the best).

You can follow Snowglobe on Instagram and Facebook.
