Shop Local: ODDS Atelier

It’s ok to be odd. That’s the motto of ODDS Atelier, the eclectic streetwear brand and boutique owned by Cornelius Martin and Matthew Roumain. Branded as “The People’s Streetwear Store”, ODDS was founded in 2019, with the retail space opening on South Main Street in 2021.

ODDS also serves as a unique event space

The popular retail destination is about more than just clothes. In addition to carrying popular emerging brands like American Needle, Homme Femme, and Eastside Gold, ODDS also serves as a unique event space. In the past, they’ve hosted and partnered with brands like Roc Nation, Hip-Hop Weekly, and Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey for activations and launches, so suffice it to say, they're a fun brand that’s also for the culture.

Why Downtown Memphis/South Main for your first location?

When deciding on a location for our business, Downtown Memphis/South Main was an obvious choice due to our familiarity with the area and our appreciation for its unique blend of architectural charm and artistic community. As our business focuses heavily on fashion and creativity, the thriving Art District of Downtown Memphis was a natural fit for our operations.

What inspired the concept of the ODDS Atelier?

Since college, our dream has been to establish a space that embodies our passion for creativity and fashion. We envisioned a unique and experimental concept that beautifully integrated our core interests of fashion, music, art and technology. We aimed to create something beyond just a clothing store; a destination that is a must-visit for both locals and tourists alike.

What do you feel sets ODDS Atelier apart from other streetwear boutiques?

Our keen eye for identifying emerging brands and fashion trends before they happen, and our commitment to engaging with the community through a wide range of in-store events - including pop ups, movie viewings, album releases, artist showcases, art events and fashion themed workshops. All of which have helped to earn us the title of "The People's Streetwear Store".

What’s your favorite part about owning ODDS Atelier ?

We take great pleasure in witnessing our concepts and creations materialize, while receiving valuable feedback from our customers. Moreover, we relish engaging with our community, which we affectionately referred to as the "ODDS Society", understanding their interests and shared love for fashion and other common pursuits.
