Play On With a Moxy Staycation

Moxy recently invited me to come out and see what the hotel was all about during a staycation. This was my first time staying at any Moxy property and I was excited to see what it was like. I brought two friends along (this was my first friends staycation too!) and we had the best time. Not to mention we also felt super refreshed after.

If you’ve stayed at their properties before, this won’t be news to you. For everyone else, expect your stay to start on a good note with a complimentary cocktail from their bar. Who doesn’t want to start their vacation (or staycation in this case) with a free cocktail? Big fan.

Being that it was all our first time staying at Moxy, we opted to hang out in the lobby area for a few drinks. We loved the attention to detail in the space from a huge assortment of records to pinball machines that are free to play.

This is a stylish social space of a hotel lobby that you actually want to hang out in.

And if you need a reminder that you are a beautiful and awesome person – Moxy has constant reminders spread throughout the hotel because we all need to be cheered on here and there.

If you don’t get a chance to stay sometime soon, I recommend a visit to try one of their many cocktails at their bar or outdoor patio which is very nicely done. They also have drink deals to take advantage of. 

I scooped an Old Dominick Crushed Orange cocktail from their “$5 Make You Holla” specials list.

Moxy likes to match the fun vibe with entertainment from live music and Music Bingo every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. with Cerrito Entertainment and drag queen bingo is held every Thursday night at 7 p.m. Between the music and affordable drinks, Moxy is great to step in to enjoy a cocktail at any time.

Whether it’s for a friend’s staycation, girls trip, or no occasion at all – you have to opt for one of Moxy’s suites which are spacious and just adorable.

Moxy has four suite options with different themes. We opted for the Jungle Room with a Mega Bed to achieve true sleepover vibes. The accompanying living room area made you feel like you were in a friend’s cute apartment. None of the clean, stale vibes a lot of hotel rooms offer.

Honestly, my first thought when I saw the bed, was how perfect of a backdrop it would be for those cute getting ready photos on a wedding day for the bridal party. The bed itself was super comfortable and we all got our best sleep in forever.

Overall, loved the hip apartment vibes the room gave. It even included a record player and records to spin.

I should note - there isn't an on-site restaurant at Moxy but there is an area to buy snacks. You can bring food from home or hit a nearby restaurant like Brass Door, Fam, Boujee Bistro, and Energy Famous Pasta.
