The Mid-South Korean BBQ Festival is firing up the grills on April 12 at Grind City Brewing, bringing together the smoky, slow-cooked tradition of American BBQ and the bold, flavorful techniques of Korean BBQ for an epic backyard cooking showdown. Not only can you try all the American & Korean BBQ you want, but you’ll also get special Korean samples of kimbap, kimchi, and more, courtesy of the Korean Association of Memphis.
This event honors Memphis’ legendary BBQ culture while also celebrating South Korea—Memphis in May’s 2025 honored country. It's the perfect way to get you 'que on ahead of the 47th World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest set for May 14-17, 2025.
Competition Categories:
American BBQ (Pork) – Classic, slow-cooked perfection.
Korean BBQ (Beef) – Bold flavors, grilled to perfection.
Dumplings – Because who doesn’t love a good dumpling?
More than 15 teams—including Bain BBQ, Poke Paradise, Pok Cha’s, and competitive "BBQ Fest Teams"—will go head-to-head, battling for a $1,500 cash prize and, of course, BBQ bragging rights.

- $50 Early Entry (Includes unlimited beer, seltzers, and sours + guaranteed parking)
Beyond incredible BBQ, enjoy Korean cultural performances from the Korean Association of Memphis, additional snacks and drinks for purchase, and a full day of food-filled fun.
Want to Compete? Applications for competition teams are open until April 8. The team fee is $150, and anyone can enter—no restaurant or Korean heritage required!
