This Tigers football season will feel unlike any other with a giant hole in the middle of Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
Instead of the below view of the press box, fans will have a view of the Coliseum and Memphis Sports & Events Center with phase two of stadium renovations underway. That means seating and capacity in the stadium will be impacted.
Stadium Renovations
Watching all the videos of the tear down of the western portions of the stadium was a wild sight. Just watch this video of when the press box came down.

Here's a sneak peek into the renovations from ABC 24. You'll notice the hole in the stadium doesn't look half bad actually. Lower bowl seating will still be available along the west sideline.
Seating in the east side of the stadium will not be affected by the construction. Parking will also not be affected. The Mighty Sound of the South, University of Memphis Marching Band will now be located in Section 129.
The Memphis football team will continue to operate from the west sideline, however, all on-field performances and recognitions will now face the east sideline. They’re even flipping the Tiger’s logo on the turf.
All concessions will still be open. Fans will still be able to enjoy their favorite foods from Pronto Pups, Coletta's, Corky's BBQ and Tiger Tacos, while offerings will remain available on both the northwest and southwest concourses. There will be an increase of draft beer and cocktail stands throughout the concourse to replace the lost concessions on the west sideline due to renovations
Don’t forget about happy hour! "Happy Hour" will continue for the first hour of gates being opened (90 minutes prior to kickoff until 30 minutes prior) and will include 16 oz. canned beers for $6 at all grab-and-gos, bars, and portable locations.
Gates 4 and 5 will be unavailable to access for entry into the stadium.
What's New in 2024
Fans can purchase a 2024 Football Dynamic Pass which means you'll experience a different seat location for each home football game for $149. Your seat location will vary and be assigned 24-48 hours before each game, meaning you can enjoy the experience in different sections at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, including the lower bowl, throughout the year! Or you can opt for a 2024 Football Mini Plan and pick three games you want to attend for $69-$210.
Added metal detectors should speed up the entry points this season instead of individual wanding.
Pepsi is now the official soft drink provider at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, and will feature Gatorade, as well as newly-branded Grab & Go stations on the east side of the stadium for quickness and convenience.
To help escape the Tennessee heat, cool down misting fans will be available on the concourse at Sections 115 & 128.
Tailgating and Tiger Lane
The new Tiger Tailgate area will return again as a meeting point for all fans to enjoy the pregame festivities on Tiger Lane:
- Tiger Tailgate features a large-screen TV for fans to watch games.
- Tiger Tailgate also feature food trucks, beer sales, seating and tables.
- It will open three hours prior kickoff and close 30 minutes before kickoff.
- Kid Zone will continue to stay in a larger area to accommodate more inflatables for children as well as a football field for kids to play on.
