Spring is here in Memphis and it is time to grab your crew and for a fun and unique hangout. These local spots are perfect for a birthday celebration or a Saturday night for the sake of mixing it up. If you are sick of doing the same old thing with your friends, this is the list for you.

1. Game Nite Lounge

The newest addition to Overton Square, Game Nite Lounge opened in July 2025 and it's already one of the most fun group experiences in the city. From the same creative minds behind Memphis Escape Rooms and AMUSE Adventure Museums, the space features 10 uniquely themed private lounges including a sports lounge, a rubber chicken room, and a Marvel superhero space. Game sessions range from 45 minutes to three and a half hours and each lounge fits 2–8 people. You will have a bunch of game options to choose from, including: party, board, word, strategy, trivia, card, dice, and arcade games. To book your group, visit gamenitelounge.com.

2. AMUSE – The Adventure Museum

AMUSE is a giant building full of games and hot tip: wear athletic clothing, because you will get sweaty. The state-of-the-art social gaming facility has 35 different games, battles, and challenges that could keep you busy for a couple of hours or all day. Ticket prices for ages 8 and up are available by the hour, with a 50% discount for ages 2–7. It's a legitimately great double date night, birthday outing, or "we're bored, what do we do" situation and you'll be surprised how competitive your group gets.

3. Memphis Escape Rooms

Memphis Escape Rooms has been a staple since 2015 and you can guarantee a private experience for groups smaller than 8 by checking the Private Event box at booking. The South Main location houses rooms like Shipwreck Cove, Jurassic Project, and The Lost Pyramid, while the East Memphis location offers its own lineup of themed rooms. Both locations are run by the same team behind AMUSE and Game Nite Lounge, so quality and creativity are baked in. Make sure to book ahead, especially on weekends.

4. The Studio Karaoke

Memphis Just opening this February, Memphis's first and only private suite karaoke features five soundproofed, Memphis-inspired suites for groups of 2–18 guests, with a full venue buyout available for up to 75. There are 80,000 songs to choose from and food and beverages are delivered directly to your room so you never have to pause the performance. Unlike traditional karaoke, which often comes with long waits and public performances, they offer private rooms that guests can reserve by the hour. Their mission is to create a space where everyone can sing, laugh, and make lasting memories. Perfect for birthdays, bachelorettes, team outings, or anyone who's been waiting for the right crowd to belt out their favorite song.
