Something big is happening in Memphis this July and you don't have to be a tennis fan to want a ticket.
The Memphis Classic, a brand-new professional women's tennis tournament, is coming to Leftwich Tennis Center July 25 through August 2, 2026, for ight days of world-class athletes, a custom-built stadium, VIP experiences and entertainment.
Here's everything you need to know.
Memphis hasn't hosted a professional women's tennis event since 2013. The Memphis Classic is part of the global WTA Tour, which means the athletes coming to Leftwich Tennis Center this summer compete at the same level as the players you watch at the US Open.
And it's not a one-time thing. This is a multi-year commitment, which means Memphis is officially a stop on the world tennis circuit for years to come.
You don't need to follow tennis rankings to appreciate who's showing up. Sloane Stephens is the name everyone's been waiting for. A US Open champion and one of America's most recognized tennis stars, Stephens accepted a wildcard to play in Memphis.
The rest of the draw is just as compelling. Alycia Parks is an explosive Atlanta native whose power game draws comparisons to Serena Williams. Dayana Yastremska is a Ukrainian singer and fashion lover whose grandfather introduced her to tennis at age five after catching her jumping off a two-meter-high wardrobe. Caty McNally is a doubles force and Coco Gauff partner known for her big personality as much as her game. McCartney Kessler, Maya Joint, Ekaterina Alexandrova, Peyton Stearns, Camila Osorio, and more round out a field that's deep, diverse, and genuinely fun to watch. The complete player list, with more additions potentially still to come, is at memphisclassic.com/players.
The tournament kicks off on Saturday, July 25 at 7pm with the "Nothing Major Exhibition" for a fun, festive night featuring tennis legends John Isner, Sam Querrey, and Stevie Johnson playing doubles and mixed doubles with WTA professionals. It's not a high-stakes match. It's a party with world-class athletes, and it's the perfect intro to the week.
Exhibition tickets are available separately or included with weeklong packages and courtside boxes.
A custom-built stadium is going up at Leftwich Tennis Center with seating for more than 2,000 fans that is designed to be intimate, close, and loud. You're not watching from a distance through binoculars. You're in it. You can see the players' faces. You can feel the crowd react in real time.
The premium options are worth a look:
- Courtside Boxes put you essentially on the court — the most exclusive seats in the house
- The Topnotch Sky Lounge offers an elevated view with bar service included
- VIP suites and end-court suites for a more private, hospitality-forward experience
- Weeklong packages cover all 14 sessions with lounge access, snacks, and first priority on next year's tickets
