The Best Neighborhoods for Christmas Lights in Memphis
One of the best Christmas traditions is driving around Memphis and the Mid-South, checking out other people's Christmas lights.

I'm not talking about professional displays like Starry Nights, which is impressive for sure, but not free. I'm talking about neighborhoods where people do their best Clark Griswold impersonations and go all out with twinkling, plastic lit-from-within holiday cheer.
Here's a general list of neighborhoods that usually go all out for the holidays. I cannot guarantee that these areas will do every year, this list is just a guideline. These aren't the only great neighborhoods, for sure, but each of these areas has a decently high concentration of decoration. If you know of other great areas, please leave them in the comments so other people can find them.
- Bellair, off of Poplar, across from Overton Park in Midtown. The entire street looks great - the light poles are wrapped, and there are a ton of awesome blue and white lights.
- The neighborhood around White Station and Quince (between 240 and Park). Some of the displays are epic and others are more modest, but this neighborhood has a really high concentration of decorated houses.
- Chickasaw Gardens (near the Pink Palace). The houses in Chickasaw gardens are huge, meaning more surface area to decorate.
- The Walnut Grove Lake subdivision in Cordova. The houses in this neighborhood are arranged around a lake, and a lot of families decorate their boats and docks.
- The residents of Central Gardens in Midtown tend to have some of the most tasteful (yet epic) displays in town.
- Twinkle Town Road in Whitehaven, neighborhood off Winchester and Elvis Presley near Graceland. - In the past, there were two houses with outstanding light displays (including one synced to a radio station) on
- Durbin Ave. near Bartlett Road. - Daybreak Drive and Venson Drive houses in Bartlett, TN. Don't miss this home on Briarhill Drive. Another great home can be found on 7th Road, Laurelhill Lane, and Clingmans Cove.
- Find a “Christmas Story” themed house at Bazemore and Ericson in south Cordova.
- And, of course, we cannot forget Collierville. Collierville’s self-guided Holiday Lights Tour featuring upwards of 100 locations begins Friday, December 8 and will run nightly until Saturday, December 23. Details here.
The Facebook page "901 Christmas Lights" has an extensive list of homes and addresses from all over town. - These aren't residential, but the business owners in Cooper-Young and in the Downtown Core always have great window displays.
