Memphis Art & Fashion Week Is Serving Looks This May

Say hello to Memphis Art & Fashion Week—formerly known as Memphis Fashion Week—now hosted by the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art and expanded to celebrate the intersection of fashion, art, and culture.

If you haven't been paying attention to Memphis's fashion scene, now's the time.

This city has always had its own sense of style: bold, unapologetic, and impossible to ignore. Streetwear designers are building brands with national buzz. Local boutiques, vintage shopws and emerging designers are turning heads far beyond the Bluff City. Because we all know that Memphis doesn't follow trends. The city sets them.

Memphis Brooks Museum hosts the 2026 Memphis Art and Fashion Week

Memphis Art & Fashion Week is the living proof. This isn't just about runway shows (although, yes, there will be jaw-dropping ones). It's the full creative experience: photography, food, identity, history, and fabulous fashion all colliding under one roof.

Directed by designer and fashion educator Ramona Sonin and powered by the Couture Collective, this week is stacked with can't-miss events, thought-provoking experiences, and high-style energy.

Here’s everything happening:

Monday, May 4 – Met Gala Watch Party

6–9 PM | Brooks Museum | $35

A glamorous Met Gala watch party, Memphis-style. Guests can walk their own red carpet, compete in a Best Dressed Contest, sip signature cocktails, and catch the Met Gala arrivals live on the big screen — all while celebrating the bold fashion energy that makes this city shine.

Wednesday, May 6 - Fashion High Tea

11AM-1PM | Brooks Museum | $125

A curated midweek affair where Memphis's fashion elite gather for a high tea luncheon and retail runway presentation. Expect polished looks styled by top local retailers, a room full of tastemakers, and an elegant daytime celebration of Memphis style.

Wednesday, May 7 – Art and Aperitifs

6–7:30 PM | Brooks Museum | $20

An exclusive evening of conversation, cocktails, and couture featuring designer Michael Ngo, celebrity fashion showroom owners Milla Stone and Alexis Lerma of The Archives & Showroom, and Creative Director Ramona Sonin. Guests get face time with the visionaries shaping fashion's future in an intimate, cocktail-forward setting designed for connection.

Friday, May 8 – Runway at the Museum

6–8:30 PM | Brooks Museum | $55 General Admission, $220 VIP

The headline event of the week transforms the Brooks Museum's Dunavant Rotunda into a living runway where art and fashion collide. Headlined by internationally celebrated designer Michael Ngo, the showcase features original collections across bold categories like Avant Garde, Trashion, and Natural World — bringing together emerging student designers and nationally recognized creatives on one unforgettable stage.

Friday, May 8 – Runway at the Museum After Party

8:30-11 PM | Brooks Museum | $35

The official afterparty picks up right where the runway leaves off. Guests celebrate alongside designers, models, and the creative forces behind the night with DJ sets, signature cocktails, and a dance floor buzzing with Memphis style and energy.

Saturday, May 9 – Super Saturday: Fashion

10 AM–12 PM | Brooks Museum | Free but ticket registration required

A hands-on workshop where kids design their own paper doll fashions using curated cutouts, coloring materials, and creative embellishments. It's a playful introduction to fashion as art — imaginative, expressive, and Memphis style, sized for the next generation of designers.
