Description:

With food prices soaring and an ever-increasing number of mystery chemicals used on food crops, more and more people are building self-reliance in food sourcing. Although not everyone has land to grow extensive gardens, most of us have some options to forage.

Grow your foraging knowledge and skills with hands-on practice! Here’s an opportunity to learn plant ID and safe uses from a local naturalist. Harvest plantain, fleabane, wild lettuce, kudzu, and many more during the first workshop at Grounded Nature Preserve just past Millington.

Workshops will meet monthly to learn what to harvest throughout the year. Native and non-native plant use will be taught, along with which ones can be safely introduced to new growing spaces.

Registration is open to ages 10 and up. See the sign up page for registration options, including seasonal and annual discounts!
