MLK50's “Get These Hands” Juke Joint and Game Night Fundraiser

Join MLK50: Justice Through Journalism for a fun-filled evening in support of the only Black-led and women-led nonprofit newsroom in Memphis. “Get These Hands” Juke Joint and Game Night centers the power of rest and play as essential practices. 

We're celebrating the historic juke joints of the Mid-South and Mississippi Delta, spaces that offered joy, connection, and escape from work and worries. Join us for Spades, Uno, Jenga and other games, along with music, dancing, and great food. 

Help us curate a vibe and build community. We encourage you to dress in looks inspired by the 1930s-1940s, embrace the juke joint aesthetic. Think sharp suits, vintage dress, bold accessories, classic hats, stylish yet comfortable, and timeless elegance.

Spots for the Spades and Uno tournaments are limited, prizes are available. Both team/couple and general admission tickets are on sale now. Each ticket comes with one drink voucher.
