ShapeShifter Art School and Gallery Announces 2026 Fall Session Classes and Workshops

MEMPHIS, TN – July 28, 2026

ShapeShifter, a space and community dedicated to creativity through lifelong learning in Memphis, TN, is announcing our 2026 Fall Session, which is now open for registration. This session includes a mix of classes and workshops, ranging from five days to three hours, that cover a range of topics: watercolor, ceramics, fiber, collage, and mixed media.

Classes at ShapeShifter are geared toward adults who want to start, reconnect with, or continue a creative practice. Our curriculum offers possible trajectories for students to follow, such as a series of collage workshops by Justin Bowles that will continue into a class in the Spring Session.

We also focus on skills that students can take from the classroom into their own practice, such as Susan Maakestad’s Visual Language class, which teaches students to develop their own imagery while experimenting with different media. Most classes are open to all levels, and all but one are for students aged 18 and up.

We are excited to offer a Fall Break Art Camp for children aged 8 to 11 during the Memphis Shelby County School’s fall break, October 12-16, 2026. This immersive camp gives young artists the opportunities to reflect on who they are and to express that visually through different art genres and with the use of a variety of art mediums.
