Cool Off with the Best Boozy Slushies in Memphis

It’s hot, you’re sweaty, and plain old water just isn’t cutting it. Enter the adult slushie, your frozen, boozy reward for surviving Memphis summer.

Whether you’re into fruity daiquiris, frozen whiskey, or something a little fancy, we’ve rounded up the best spots around town to grab a grown-up frozen drink.

Martha’s Daiquiri Factory

Located in Cordova, this spot leans all the way in with colorful, sugary daiquiris in just about every flavor you can think of. Can’t decide on a flavor? Order a slushie flight up to five flavors. That may still be hard to narrow down since this place boasts that they're "The only place on the PLANET with over 158 Daiquiris And Frozen Cocktails made." They can also make almost any cocktail into frozen form.

Address: 8553 Macon Rd #102, Cordova, TN 38018

Wet Willie’s

A classic stop if you’re strolling Beale. Wet Willie’s has slushie machines lined up behind the bar with boozy flavors from piña colada to their infamous “Call A Cab.” It’s sweet, fruity, and not for the faint of heart.

Address: 209 Beale St, Memphis, TN 38103

Fat Tuesday

Not your typical Fat Tuesday location (you can go inside this one!). This chain offers customizable frozen cocktails and mix-and-match flavors. You’ll probably see a few people walking around with the giant souvenir cups.

Max’s Sports Bar

Max’s, in South Main, is known as a neighborhood sports bar but it’s also a great spot for a slushie. They have machines lining the wall with their staple flavors: dreamsicle, blood orange, purple drank, and more.

Address: 115 GE Patterson Ave, Memphis, TN 38103

Slider Inn

The Jameson slushie at Slider Inn is basically a Memphis legend. It’s strong, it’s icy, and always picturesque. Both Slider Inn locations have great patios to enjoy this Memphis staple.

Address: 2117 Peabody Ave. and 363 Mulberry St.

Loflin Yard

Loflin has a rotating frozen drink selection, but you can usually count on a paloma, coffee slush, or frosé during the summer. Grab one and chill in the backyard with friends or a date. Slushies are discounted during their happy hour too!

Address: 7 W Carolina Ave, Memphis, TN 38103

STIX Express

This downtown sushi spot is lowkey serving one of the most unique frozen drinks in town, a sake slushie. It's part lemonade, part Japanese rice wine, and definitely boozy!

Address: 150 Peabody Place Suite 115 Memphis, TN 38103

Old Dominick Distillery

While known for their signature old fashioneds, Old Dominick Distillery also has a stellar slushie option. The honeybell slushie is made with their honeybell citrus vodka and it’s delicious.

The Candy Shop Daiquiri’s

Cooper’s

This is the new concept that was formerly Cafe Ole.  Cooper’s keeps a frozen drinks on rotation and with its expansive patio, often with live music, it makes it a solid neighborhood hang. Flavors include a frozen espresso martini, a paloma-inspired Caption Cooper’s, top shelf margarita, and a seasonal slush.

Cameo

Cameo, in Midtown, is a cocktail lover’s dream. Sift through their generous list of cocktails or narrow in on their two frozen cocktail options: Battle Cries at Starbucks and Porn Star Martini. The names are a part of the fun here.

Address: 1835 Union Ave Suite 103, Memphis, TN 38104

The Green Beetle

Memphis’ oldest tavern could never have predicted boozy slushies would be a thing when it was first established in 1939 but that didn’t stop this bar from being known for its Bushwaker–a long-standing featured drink that you don’t need to be transported to a beach to enjoy. Yes, this may be more of a milkshake but it’s too tasty to omit from a list of delicious frozen drink options.

Address: 325 S Main St, Memphis, TN 38103

Build your perfect Memphis meal:

I love to eat so if I were to have only one meal left.. I’m going all out. I’d start with an app of Gumbo Fries from Blue City Cafe or Bayou Fries from Chef Tam, wings from Good Fortune or Central’s (honey gold and Jamaican Jerk), potato salad from Fat Larry’s, side of bbq spaghetti from Bar-B-Q Shop, and fried okra from Soul Fish. All paired with a Beale Street Brewing Space Age Sippin’.

Your most memorable Memphis moment:

College GameDay on Beale Street. That was an electric and perfect morning. I was still working in news then and was able to take it in up close and on the stage at some points. The fun and joy of everyone down there that morning is unbeatable.

You forgot the best Margarita in town...  Molly's La Casita!!!  Double bonus if you make it a 50/50 with a "rocks" margarita.  Twice the margarita, 1/2 the watering down as you sip.
