The Band CAMINO Comes Home For This Friday’s Orpheum Show

The Band CAMINO is coming back to their hometown for a show at the Orpheum this Friday, February 25!

Get your tickets here. If you’re not yet among their huge fan base, you may still recognize them from that one Memphis commercial that plays during Grizzlies games. You know the one. This one.

Pop Rock Group The Band CAMINO Performs In Memphis

The Band CAMINO is Jeffery Jordan, Spencer Stewart, and Garrison Burgess. Their self-titled debut album came out in September 2021, so you can expect their set list to focus on the new tracks, plus fan favorites from their EP tryhard which boasts the aforementioned “See Through” and “1 Last Cigarette”.

Their music has been described as pop, electropop, indie rock, guitar-forward. Whatever you want to call it, a couple years ago they were playing at The Bluff and headlining 901 Fest…and now they’re selling out tours, hitting 2.5 million monthly Spotify streams, performing at Lollapalooza, going on Jimmy Kimmel and just generally kicking ass.

I think back to when we had contributor Baylee grab a beer with these young musicians a few years ago. They talked about their love of Memphis and how the city (and the city’s music scene) had influenced them. This group may be Nashville-based and have a slightly different lineup now, but they still call Memphis home.

Welcome Home, Y'all!

What impresses me most is the VERY dedicated and enormous worldwide following that The Band Camino has earned. Sometimes (often, even) artists and bands get popular in Memphis, but then reach even more fans outside of our local scene. I think the trio is a solid example of that. That’s not to say these University of Memphis alums don’t have a Bluff City fanbase. They definitely do.

My friend Elizabeth is one of these OG fans. She says that “the greatest part about the Band Camino is their relatability. Do I spend too much time in my room? Absolutely. Do I also want to occasionally escape the world's constant negativity and smell the roses? Oh yeah.”

The relatability of the lyrics, the bright, energetic pop sound, good vibes, and is what draws fans to the Band Camino. I wanted to be sure we gave them some love here on I Love Memphis and remind everyone to get their tickets for tomorrow’s show ASAP. It's gonna be a good one!
