Fuel Up At Ancient Grounds Coffee Cafe at the Memphis Zoo
Ancient Grounds coffee shop is the newest thing at the Memphis Zoo—the cafe opens to the public on June 30th and will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
New Coffee Shop At The Memphis Zoo
A gift to tired parents and caretakers everywhere, this new coffee shop and cafe is located right inside the Zoo’s entrance (it will be on your left after you enter). It’s air conditioned and the menu has all the caffeination you need to get through a busy day at the Memphis Zoo. They have coffee, other drinks, and a small food menu with baked goods, biscuit sandwiches, and Dave’s Bagels.

Ancient Grounds Menu
Ancient Grounds serves espresso- and coffee-based drinks from Kaldi’s Coffee Roasting Co. They also have all the trendy drinks, most available hot or iced. Cold brew, iced herbal teas, matcha latte (the “Anaconda”), fruit smoothies, and frozen Instagram-ready drinks like the “Pink Flamingo” (white chocolate, strawberry, milk, coffee optional) are all on the menu.

There’s even the “Hedgehog” drink, which is brewed coffee with Jameson and Bailey’s. Speaking of alcoholic beverages, the Zoo has been selling beer since summer 2020 and Wiseacre’s popular coffee stout Gotta Get Up To Get Down is now available at Ancient Grounds. Really whatever you need to fuel your trip to the Zoo with every family member who’s in town for a summer trip—Ancient Grounds has it. Bonus: it’s cute inside, with jungle decor, and all the drink names are cute too.
