2025 Holiday Wonders at the Garden
Daily in December | Multiple Shifts Available
Holiday Wonders at the Garden transforms the Memphis Botanic Garden into a glowing winter world, complete with shimmering lights, festive photo ops, and “snow” drifting over My Big Backyard. Volunteers set the scene by running activity stations, assisting with family photo spots, greeting guests, and keeping the magic flowing throughout the night. This is a great pick for anyone who loves the energy of holiday celebrations.
Holiday Heroes Workshop Volunteers for Youth Villages
Select Days in December | Multiple Shifts Available
The holidays mean even more when you help make them brighter for families who need support. Youth Villages needs volunteers to sort, receive, wrap, and organize gifts donated to fulfill the individual wish lists of youth and families in their programs. Volunteers must be 18 or older and will complete a short waiver upon arrival. Sign up for one shift (or several!). The more hands, the more holiday joy that reaches local homes.
Germantown Lights on the Farm
Saturday, December 6 | 4:45 to 9:15 p.m.
There’s something magical about a farm lit for the holidays. At Bobby Lanier Farm Park’s Lights on the Farm Festival, volunteers help families experience the wonder of the season through live music, sleigh rides, face painting, photos with Santa, and more. If you love festive nights, helping kids have fun, and being part of a warm, joyful community event, this shift is the perfect match.
Girls Inc. Annual Family Turkey Giveaway
Saturday, December 13 | 7:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Start your morning with purpose at Girls Inc.’s Turkey Giveaway. Volunteers assist with setting up tables, organizing donations, directing cars, greeting families, distributing food and gifts, and helping wrap up at the end. This opportunity is all about hands-on impact. You’ll meet neighbors, support local families, and help ensure the holidays feel a little brighter and less stressful for those picking up groceries and seasonal essentials.
Beyond the Stars: A Madonna Christmas Story
Wednesday, December 17 and Thursday, December 18 | Multiple Shifts Available
Few holiday events capture the heart of the season like the annual Christmas play at Madonna Learning Center. This year’s original musical, Beyond the Stars, takes audiences to a whimsical Tinseltown where the search for the brightest star leads to the true meaning of Christmas. Volunteers will help greet attendees, seat guests, and guide families through the auditorium – ensuring everyone has a smooth, welcoming experience and supporting the incredibly talented students who poured their hearts into this beloved production.
Wrap up the year by lifting up Memphis
Whether you’re looking for something festive, family-centered, or hands-on, December in Memphis is full of ways to make a meaningful difference. 👏 Your time and presence can turn an ordinary volunteer shift into something unforgettable – both for you and for the community.
