Shelby Farms Get Outside! Fitness Programs
Shelby Farms Park hosts several free group fitness classes. Check their website for updates and class details.
- Tai Chi: Wednesdays 3 p.m. at Visitor Center
- Total Body Conditioning: Wednesdays at 5:45 p.m. at Visitor Center Lawn
- Hoop Fitness (adult hula hoop): Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. at Visitor Center Lawn

Downtown Memphis Free Yoga
Downtown Memphis hosts two weekly yoga classes. No need to register, just show up with water, towel, and mat. All ages and experience welcome. Follow Downtown Memphis on FB or IG for updates.
- Sunset Yoga: Sundays 5:30 p.m. at Fourth Bluff Park (51 N.Front St.)
- Yoga on the River w/ Yoga Kickback: Tuesdays 6 p.m. at River Garden (51 Riverside Dr.)
Envision Memphis Total Body Burn
Envision hosts a half-hour Total Body Fitness class at Grind City Brewing on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. Register and see fee information online.
Vinyasa Yoga On The Patio
Central Station hosts a 45 minute vinyasa yoga class on the patio on Saturdays at 11:15 a.m. It’s $16 per class, free for hotel guests, or you can use your class pass if you’re a member at Downtown Yoga or Envision Fitness. Sign up and reserve your spot online before class.
Sweat The Greenway
The Wolf River Conservancy hosts free group fitness classes every Saturday at three different Wolf River Greenway locations. The classes run through October 16. Times and schedule can vary, so check the Facebook for latest info.
- Fun & Fitness: Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. at Epping Way (2630 Epping Way)
- Barre Class: Saturdays at 9 a.m. at Mud Island (1320 Mud Island Rd.)
- Temple Tantrum with Te’Retta: select Saturdays 9 a.m. at Kennedy Park (4332 Raleigh LaGrange Rd.)
Levitt Shell Health & Wellness Series
Baptist Memorial Health Care is sponsoring free, in person group fitness classes at the Shell—just be sure to register ahead of time since space is limited.
- Twilight Yoga & Pilates: Mondays 5:30 p.m. at the Shell
- Cardi-O: every other Saturday at 9 a.m.
Self Defense Class For Women + Non Binary Folks
The Center for Transforming Communities hosts a free monthly self-defense class at Gaisman Park on Saturday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Check out the FB page for details and a number to call to sign up.
Memphis Fit4Mom Outdoor Classes
The local franchise of Fit4Mom hosts a ton of outdoor and virtual workout classes for moms, including stroller workout classes. Locations are all over town, from Shelby Farms to Overton Square to Church of the Holy Communion in East Memphis (outdoors). They offer multi-class passes and monthly memberships, and your first class is free. Check out their website for all the details.
F3 Memphis men's bootcamp
The 3 F's in the F3 stand for fitness, fellowship, and faith. This international organization has 24 local Mid-South meetup locations from downtown to Arlington where they host early morning workouts for men 7 days a week. The workouts are all free and held at outdoor, public locations. Learn more and get a list of locations on their website and Facebook and Twitter pages.
901 Kettlebell Club
The 901 Kettlebell Club hosts classes every day Wednesday through Sunday outside by the Rec Room on Broad Avenue. Classes are $15 per person and you need to sign up ahead of time; check out the website for schedule and sign up info.
