Creating Community With: Like Really Creative
Like Really Creative was built on the idea that immersing yourself in creativity can remedy feelings of isolation. Zack Orsborn, founder of Like Really Creative, was experiencing a lack of connection to his own creative outlets and felt a desire to “find [his] people.”
Like Really Creative was built on the idea that immersing yourself in creativity can remedy feelings of isolation. Zack Orsborn, founder of Like Really Creative, was experiencing a lack of connection to his own creative outlets and felt a desire to “find [his] people.”
Through Like Really Creative, Zack has curated different events that are built on networking, community, connecting, and above all, creativity. These events have taken off and are leading into an even greater future for the Like Really Creative brand.
Originally, Like Really Creative started with a podcast where Zack would speak with local artists. From there, he began the collage parties at Ugly Art Co. that are now hosted monthly. Now, Like Really Creative also hosts events from portrait swaps and junk journaling to artist speed dating and dance parties. These creative outlets are for anyone of any age. You never know who you may meet and make a deep connection with, and that’s exactly what Zack is hoping for! It's a great way to break out of your comfort zone and meet new people all while tapping in to your artsy side.
Looking ahead, Zack is about to work with his dream collaborator, Marcella Simien, to create a new Creative Wellness series! Marcella and Zack will bring Like Really Creative fans a relaxing, soulful experience at Memphis Libraries complete with sound bowls, music, and poetry. She'll also be helping him on the culmination of all his projects: a book on creativity. This book will feature inserts from local artists he's talked with on his podcast, creative tips, and more! In the end, Zack "just want[s] to spread the power of creativity and its healing powers, and get people together and make stuff."
